The PIG Invitational
38 Years and over $650,000 of Giving!

Our Past

The PIG Invitational Charity, Inc. is a non-profit charity (TIN #58-1828325) whose sole purpose is to raise funds to aid local St. Tammany Parish organizations that care for needy children and seniors. The late Ford Waters started the tournament in 1980 when he invited some of his friends to play golf followed by a neighborhood party and pig roast. The first charitable contribution was made in 1981 and to date, The PIG has contributed over a half of a million dollars to such charities as: Fairhaven Childrens Home, VAAN, SCAP, Samaritan Center, Childrens Advocacy Center, Kids in Crisis, Upward Community Services, K Bar B Youth Ranch and others.

Our Present

The PIG is unlike any other charity golf tournament. In addition to a tremendous golf outing played on a first class facility (Beau Chene Country Club) we host a post round awards party as well as a full scale cocktail party the next night with golfers and guests. Our cocktail party is attended by over 200 guests each year and showcases an amazing silent auction, great food, drinks, and music by a live band!

The event now in its 38th year has continued to grow in popularity and influence within the community. The PIG has hosted 9 consecutive sold out fields of 128 golfers that has resulted in net proceeds in excess of $40,000 in each of the last eight years. Our 11 person board is 100% volunteer and all net proceeds are donated to local charities shortly after the event each year.

This event is a great opportunity for your participation as a sponsor or donor or attendee.
The 2018 event is scheduled for Thursday October 4th and Friday October 5th.

Our Beneficiaries

Currently the PIG has three core orginizations that we support on a yearly basis. Each of these groups has a tremendous impact within our community. With a shared mission of helping the children and elderly of our great parish these orginizations are more than worthy of our (and your) continued support.

Childrens Advocacy Center: Hope House is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to ending the cycle of child abuse in our community. They provide a path to recovery and a bridge to justice for victims of abuse. To learn more about their mission and services please visit www.cachopehouse.org.

Upward Community Services: To improve the lives of the working poor in Washington and St. Tammany parishes by giving them the opporunity and exposure needed to break the cycle of poverty, crime, neglect and substance abuse. To learn more about their mission and services please visit www.upwardcommunityservices.org.

The Samaritan Center: A vital partner in our community, providing a place for local people to volunteer and express their faith through service to those in need. Founded 20 years ago by a group of pastors and priests, the Samaritan Center is a centrally located Emergency Center and Food Bank. To learn more about their mission and services please visit www.samcen.org.
